Project Overview:

The Slayter Creek Park Splash Pad renovation is a testament to the dedication of the City of Anna and its commitment to providing a safe, engaging, and modern interactive spray park for its residents. With innovative water park toys, efficient filtration, and additional amenities, this revitalized interactive spray park promises to be a beloved destination for families of all ages, fostering a strong sense of community and aquatic play for years to come.

Collaboration and Revitalization:

The Slayter Creek Park Splash Pad in Anna, Texas, is the result of a successful collaboration between Water Odyssey, Kraftsman Commercial Playgrounds, Counsilman Hunsaker, and the City of Anna. The interactive spray park project aimed to breathe new life into a 12-year-old splash pad that had fallen into disrepair due to outdated and failing mechanical systems. The renovation became necessary to ensure the safety and functionality of the facility and to improve the overall guest experience.

Overcoming Challenges:

The interactive spray park faced multiple challenges, including its closure for the entirety of Summer 2022 due to operational difficulties. To align with current facility codes, a comprehensive overhaul was required. The ambitious $2.5 million dollar project involved the complete demolition of the original interactive spray park, followed by the construction of a new splash park design from the ground up.

Expanded Water Playground:

The revitalized Slayter Creek Park Splash Pad boasts a sprawling 10,533-square-foot water playground, expanding by more than 2,000 square feet compared to the original. This substantial expansion allows for a more immersive and enjoyable aquatic play experience for visitors of all ages and abilities.

Diverse Splash Park Design:

The park incorporates over 60 Water Odyssey water park toys, including the Massive Splash®, Zen Shower, Water Worm, a variety of Mushroom Mazes, Spin-A-Round, Water Coils, and the Fling Buckets. These engaging water park toys cater to a wider audience and create a dynamic and interactive spray park.

Efficient Splash Pad Filtration System:

The Slayter Creek Park Splash Pad features a recirculating filtration system anchored by a tank ten times the size of the former system, with an 11,500-gallon water capacity. The use of a large splash pad water management system allows for all sixty aquatic play products to operate simultaneously. This advanced system ensures water quality and sustainability, contributing to the longevity and play value of the interactive spray park.

Additional Enhancements:

In addition to the spray park renovation, the project includes several enhancements to the park. New sidewalks enhance accessibility, a fitness court promotes an active lifestyle, and shade structures offer respite from the sun, enhancing the overall visitor experience.

Community Investment:

Marc Marchand, director of neighborhood services, expressed excitement about the transformation of the interactive spray park. He highlighted that this renovation represents a significant investment in the community's recreational infrastructure, providing a safe and engaging environment for families and children to cool off and have fun during the summer months.
